Touring The City of Adelaide

Today I took the tram from Moseley Square, Glenelg into the city. One of my first stops was Rundle Mall. It’s a pedestrian-only street mall between King William Street and Pulteney Street. Included in this, are a few arcades/plazas with lovely looking coffee shops, small boutiques etc. As soon as I arrived, I noticed street performers/buskers in the centre of the mall…rather entertaining! I then stopped by a small outdoor café for iced coffee and cake. Very necessary…as you can imagine, it gets pretty tiring walking around in the hot sun! Especially in the city, where there’s absolutely no breeze!

After that I was planning on visiting the local art gallery but decided against it, as it was just too hot! Instead, I headed over to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and spent a good amount of time there. Such stunning flowers and a lot history with the plants etc…including the exotic ‘Amazon Waterlily’.

After that, was Adelaide Central Market (a popular tourist attraction selling a vast amount of fresh produce, as well as cakes, biscuits etc.) I was expecting quite a small market but it was huge!
