So after our night bus from Huanchaco, we arrived in Lima in the morning…in desperate need of a shower! We had a couple of hours to kill before we could check into our hotel, so we all went to go and explore and have some breakfast/lunch. We took a bus to the very touristy part of the city…(we were staying in a more residential area) ‘Miraflores’. It was very western. Full of Starbucks and Maccy D’s!

We had lunch in Miraflores Mall – an outdoor mall overlooking the ocean (shown in the photos). A lot of us actually had Burger King for lunch and I’m not even embarrassed to say it! As much as it’s nice to try and always eat local cuisine, sometimes when you’re travelling, it’s convenient to occasionally have fast-food as it’s usually the cheaper option!

Our hotel was pretty old but perfectly adequate…just not as nice as the other hotels we stayed in. In the evening, we went out for a nice, local dinner and then found a lovely bakery/ice cream parlour to have dessert!

On my last day, I continued to wonder around the city. I found a lovely café/bistro to have lunch…it’s quite popular in South America to offer a lot of set menus so I went for one of those!
